Josef Fritzl locked up his own daughter in his basement for 24 years. During all those years he raped her, starting when she was 11, and made her have 7 kids. One of them died and the rest were separated, because he brought some of them upstairs telling the family that Elisabeth had ran off. All the time while she was growing up, he was mean to her. Behind many locked doors Elisabeth and her tree of her kids were prisoners, bur no one could hear them screaming for help behind the massive walls. He deprived her of her rights and stole 24 years of her life.
This week on Thursday, they will give him his sentence and everyone is waiting for this. This cruel man might get only 7 years in prison, because he confessed to 4 of the 6 points he was accused of. But now he also confessed the last points about murder and slavery. But it wouldn’t be fair to let this monster out of jail after only 7 years, when he kept his daughter as a prisoner for 24 years. I think he should be in prison for the rest of his life. What kind of sentence do you think he deserves?

His sentence was published today and he got sentenced to life in mental hospital. This is in my opinion, the only right thing to do. For me, its just hard to believe that it is possible to do an action like he did. What he did is from my point of view, a uch worse thing to do than taking someone elses life, and therefore i dont see another way than to put him in jail for a lifetime
The speculating in which he had a mental sickness could be right. But to give him only some few years in prison would be a horrible mistake. Just think about how this poor girl would feel. She would possibly not be able to sleep very well. You got me?
The crimes that Josef Fritzel have done during his life is horrible. It is propably the most sick thing one single human have done that I have ever heard of.
Fritzel got sentenced to a lifetime in prison, and I think the jury gave him the right punishment. Someone who held their daughter and her children imprisoned for over twenty years shouldn't get death sentence. I hope he will understand the cruelty of his actions when he get locked up himself.
I mean that Josef Fritzl deserves the same treatment as his daughter and all the kids got! He should, instead of lifetime in prison, be locked up in a cold and dark basement, so that he has experienced how it was for his daughter. I am fully aware of that this cannot be done because everyone has the right to a fair verdict etc., but what the man did was such an awful thing to do, and I hope it will never happen again!
Earlier this week I read that Josef Fritzl will spend the rest of his life in prison. In this case I think that this is the only right way to punish him. Because I don’t think it would be right to kill him and I also mean that only seven years in prison would be far away from good enough punishment. So I believe that they have made the right decision by putting this man in prison in the rest of his life. I really hope that there not will be any similar cases in the future.
Some people are still discussing what kind of punishment Josef Fritzl should have been given. Some people say that the punishment he was given was too soft, and some says that whatever you do too him it doesn’t matter. They say that it was too soft because he took 24 years of his child life, and those children that were born early lost too much of their life’s. They say that Josef Fritzl should be killed or tortured so he will understand what cruelty he have done to innocent people. I personally think that is a bit harsh on the other hand, but maybe a lifetime in a mental institution is a bit of a soft punishment. At a mental institution everything is like a daycare center, except that the people at the daycare center get poorer treated.
I have always been against capital punishment. But in this case scenario I may think it is okay. He has not only ruined Elizabeth’s life but also her family’s lives and their family for generations. The name Fritzl should be as illegal as the name Hitler. What this man has done for years is completely unbelievable and it scares me that such things can take place in a small community.
This is a very difficult case because it is very comprehensive and does not have a clear answer. It is important that the case get proper treatment and that the decision is not affected by peoples meanings. The cause should not be a public retaliation, but Josef Fritzel deserves to be in jail for the rest of his life. Of course is he mentally ill, but still he did the crime. I don’t think a person that ill can be “treated” by psychologists. It is not a temporary mental condition, it is who he is.
